Charles Napier Kennedy, born in London in 1852, after studying at the Slade School was elected to the Royal Institute of Oil Painters in 1883 and became an associate of the Royal Hibernian Academy in 1896. The subjects covered in his paintings are mainly historical and mythological, like this Perseus and Andromeda, an oil on canvas from 1890 in a private collection.
