Alfred Boucher created some of the most delicate and seductive nudes of the late 19th century. They range from Volubilis, which in its unfinished state recalls the sculptures of Rodin, to the refined ethereal beauty of the Hirondelle Blessée, exhibited at the 1898 Salon with great success. The model is particularly famous as it was reworked by Damien Hirst for his 2008 Anatomy of an Angel marble. Sotheby’s Catalog, 2017.
