A ram’s-head amulet made of solid gold. The animal’s head is topped with a uraeus cobra. This object, which is 4.2 centimeters in height, dates to the 25th (Nubian) Dynasty―circa 712-664 BCE. Rams were associated with the god Amun, especially in Nubia.
This piece (1989.281.98) is now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, USA.
