Medea before she went crazy

In this engraving by Georg Pencz, circa 1500-1550, German painter and engraver, who probably did an apprenticeship with Albrecht Dürer, Medea Returning the Penates to Jason, as a pledge of his fidelity. Of the various versions, derived from the engraving, here we can admire the one preserved in the National Gallery of Art in Washington.
